I’m just a novice with an interest in learning random things that catch my attention. Yacy has caught my attention and it is a lot of fun to have so much control over how search engines collect and populate results. As a novice, I have been frustrated with trying to find tutorials that aren’t vague and require me to search for how to interpret the tutorial itself. AKA, going down the rabbit hole.

I am also seeing a lot of unanswered questions in this forum. I’ve decided to contribute in this way. When I run into unanswered questions or brain-melting “how-to’s” on older threads I will try to give the topic closure. Laymen terms only, links/screenshots, example code/terminology of exactly what needs to be in the configuration, etc.

Aside from that I am an IT hobbyist. I love technology when it doesn’t spy on me. Testing (breaking) systems to figure out how they work by learning a little bit of everything I can. Art and Evolutionary Theory are also among my favorite topics. Also, I love anime & progressive metal, weird combination right?

Some project ideas for Yacy within my capacity to work on are:

Creating templates for vocabulary files for better indexing/searching that can be used, edited and copied by anyone. i.e. keywords that have synonyms for misspelliogs , multiple translations, other terms like: Arthouse=Gallery,Auctionhouse,Galerie,Ausstellung,Auktionshaus,Gallerie,Asstellong
Creating simplified tutorials- For Dummies style.
Collecting topic requests from other users, especially from my international peers as I am not bi-lingual.
Any other template creations that may be helpful.
